What to Expect: Dental Implant Treatment

Dental implants are a long-term solution designed to replace missing teeth with strength, comfort, and longevity. Treatment is intentionally staged to allow your body the time it needs to heal and integrate naturally.

Why Implant Treatment Is Staged

Implant success depends on proper bone healing and integration. Each phase is thoughtfully timed to ensure stability, comfort, and long-term function— never rushed.

Before Your Appointment

  • Medications: If antibiotics or other medications are recommended, prescriptions will be sent ahead of time.
  • Forms & Consent: All treatment plans and consent forms must be completed prior to surgery.
  • Medical Clearance: In some cases, clearance from your physician may be required.
  • Temporary Tooth: If a temporary retainer is planned, your lab case will be prepared ahead of time.

During Your Surgery Visit

  • You will be comfortably numbed prior to treatment
  • Extraction may be performed if needed
  • The implant may be placed the same day or at a later visit
  • A temporary retainer or tooth may be delivered when appropriate
  • Total appointment time varies based on complexity
